“Zhangjiang-U.S. Massachusetts” China Medical Device Innovation Forum, sponsored by China Association for Medical Devices Industry , Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Co., Ltd. and Massachusetts Technology Center and undertaken by Shanghai Zhangjiang business incubator Management Company Limited, Shanghai Zhangjiang Innovation Institute,Boston University School of Business and Massachusetts Education Center, was held in the theme pavilion of World Expo 2010 Shanghai on June 15.
Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Administrative Committee, according to Mr. Xiaolong Liu, deputy director of introduction, and Foreign Economic & Trade Offices of the eastern United States Joint Committee President Ms. Maureenn Mezei made speech, China Association for Medical Devices Industry Chairman Ms. Yixin Zhao spoke about Chinese medical device industry status and future trends in the development, Chairman of China Medical Device Industry Innovation Alliance, Mr. Feng Jiang in his speech stressed that the innovative development of the Chinese medical device industry has played an important role in upgrading. Boston University Business School Professor Beth - Gedesitan and Barry - Horwitz in their speech encouraged Chinese companies to focus on medical device innovation&development and establish a vision for global development at the same time. They believed that the current Chinese companies can cooperate with foreign medical device companies in the areas of technical innovation or product marketing ,further to the global market.
The Forum also invited several leading enterprises of Chinese medical device industry to share their innovative development cases. The participants conducted in-depth discussion about the global medical device market regulation strategies (in particular, the relevant laws and regulations about the U.S. medical device market ), Zhangjiang medical device industry innovation and international practices, and how to establish ongoing Sino-US medical device development strategies and cooperation planning, etc.
