Xundian Hui and Yi Nationality Autonomous County of Yunnan Province has been the Yi Nationality settlement across thousands years of history, and the state exploiting and supporting major destitute mountain county where minority live in with half herding way of life. Under it’s jurisdiction, Liushao town contains 11 village committees, 75 villages. Its total population is 17,913, and the people in poverty account for 69% of the total population. Therefore, the basic education level is very low, and the development of education is particularly important there.
The nine-year school of Liushao town was founded at the time of comprehensive reform of education in 2006, which was combined by the former central school, junior high school, and the primary school of town center. Now it consists of secondary school and primary school, meanwhile, it takes charge of the administration of other schools in township. For its poor education infrastructure, most of the students who live far away from school have to spend several hours every day on the way. It causes the children‘s safety and dropout risks. May 2011, Haikang Pharm donated 500,000 RMB to help the school enlarge dormitory for education of Liushao Town, which not only can help students to save their time and solve the worries of parents, but also can greatly improve the quality of teaching and help the children complete their studies.
